My first post: rented apartment in Budapest

Posted by on 2013 April 24

I’ve been thinking a lot, what should be my first post about.  I plan to write weekly/bi-weekly technical analyzes about my works and to share with you some furnishing ideas and proposals based on images collected from the net or from my readers. But in this first post I analyze one of my works.

The picture shows a 55m2 apartment’s living room in a 14-unit condominium at Gellért Hill. The condo owner had long-term investment purposes with this apartment and the renovation and furnishing was done also in this spirit. Next to a full-scale technical development, the basic intent was to establish a millieu suitable for inhabitants of different age and sex:

  • qualitative and easy to use coatings, finishes
  • easy to maintain and repaire furnitures
  • colors and fixtures, which are acceptable to both genders
  • impersonal installationsHáló_1_300x225

Furnishing of the living room began with a cabinet row from ’90-ies: the gray floor and walls are coming alive with black-and-white accessories and the purple color helps the whole become cheerful . The purple and feminine floral pattern on the wall is compensated by the gray, black and white base.

The bedroom has a retro atmosphere due to the existing “STUDIO” furniture, with its beige, orange, brown and white colors. The Klimt repro on the wall was installed specially for its later resident.

Konyha_3_300x225Due to the North’s orientation of the kitchen, it will get less light than other rooms, so I tried to equilibrate it with white furnitures and pale turquoise walls.Fürdő_4_300x225

The kitchen is housed with the breakfast table, and the opened working table in the living room can accommodate larger companies as well. The apartment is ideal for 2 people.

The bathroom continues the retro-mood: the turquoise-and-white composition reflects the retro world, yet modern and fully meets the needs of today.
